Who operates this site
FreePrEP.org is operated by Scout Theory LLC. We are an independent business. We are not affiliated with any government agency, pharmaceutical company, or healthcare provider.
How we earn revenue
FreePrEP.org is a free resource. We don't charge visitors anything. We generate revenue through the following channels:
1. Telehealth referral programs
We participate in referral programs with telehealth platforms that provide PrEP services. When you click a referral link on our site and complete the sign-up process with a telehealth provider, we may earn a referral fee. Current referral relationships include:
MISTR (heymistr.com): We earn a referral fee when you sign up through our link. MISTR provides PrEP, lab testing, and consultations at $0 cost to you through insurance billing and patient assistance programs.
We may add additional referral partnerships in the future. This page will be updated to reflect any new relationships.
2. Display advertising
We may display advertisements on certain pages through advertising networks such as Google AdSense, Mediavine, or Raptive. We do not directly control which ads appear, though we work to ensure ads are appropriate for a health resource site.
3. Other affiliate programs
We may earn commissions through affiliate links to STI testing services, health insurance marketplaces, or other health-related services. All such relationships will be identified on the relevant pages.
What this means for you
Using our affiliate links costs you nothing extra. The telehealth services, patient assistance programs, and other resources we link to are free (or the same price) whether you use our link or go directly. Our referral fee comes from the service provider, not from you.
Our editorial independence
Affiliate relationships do not influence our recommendations. Our editorial decisions are based on:
1. Cost to you: Programs and services that cost you $0 are recommended over those with any out-of-pocket cost.
2. Coverage quality: Programs that cover medication, labs, and visits are recommended over those covering medication only.
3. Accessibility: Services available in more states, with easier enrollment, and faster delivery are prioritized.
If a program with no affiliate relationship is genuinely the best option for a user's situation, we recommend it without hesitation. Our long-term value depends entirely on your trust.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255). In addition to this dedicated disclosure page, we place inline disclosures at the top of any page containing affiliate links.
