Overview
FreePrEP.org is operated by Scout Theory LLC. We take your privacy seriously — especially given the sensitive nature of HIV prevention. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
The short version: We collect minimal data. Our eligibility tool runs entirely in your browser — no personal information is sent to our servers or stored anywhere. We use standard analytics and may display ads in the future, which involve cookies.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Eligibility tool answers — Your insurance status, state, income, and PrEP preference are processed entirely in your browser's JavaScript. This data is never sent to our servers, stored in any database, or shared with anyone.
- Health information — We do not collect, store, or transmit any Protected Health Information (PHI). FreePrEP.org is an informational resource, not a healthcare provider.
- Personal identification — We do not require accounts, logins, names, email addresses, or any personal identifiers to use this site.
Information We May Collect
- Analytics data — We may use Google Analytics or similar services to understand how visitors use our site (pages visited, time on site, geographic region, device type). This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
- Cookies — Our site may use cookies for analytics and, in the future, for display advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.
- Contact form submissions — If you email us, we receive your email address and message content. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.
Affiliate Links
When you click a disclosed affiliate link, the destination platform may use cookies or other attribution methods to credit the referral. FreePrep.org may receive confirmation needed for commission reporting, but we do not receive your health records or clinical account details from those providers. MISTR links in the current site build are ordinary non-affiliate links.
Third-Party Services
Our site may include links to external services (telehealth platforms, government websites, manufacturer programs). Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites. We encourage you to review their policies before sharing personal information.
Data Security
FreePrEP.org is served over HTTPS. Since we collect minimal data, the attack surface is small. We do not maintain user databases or store sensitive information on our servers.
Children's Privacy
FreePrEP.org provides health information that may be relevant to minors seeking PrEP (state laws vary on minor consent for PrEP). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
