Know Your Rights
HIV Criminalization
Indiana has 6 HIV-specific criminal statutes — among the harshest nationally. Non-disclosure is a Level 6 Felony, with each day counting as a separate violation. A 2022 review panel unanimously recommended repeal but no reform passed.
Gender-Affirming Care
HEA 1007 (2023) bans gender-affirming medical treatment for minors. No statewide LGBTQ+ non-discrimination protections.
Minor Consent
PrEP MAP serves age 16+. Indiana minor consent for STI services exists but PrEP coverage is legally ambiguous.
Insurance Coverage
Private insurance covers PrEP at $0 under ACA. HIP 2.0 Medicaid covers PrEP (copay depends on plan tier).
