Know Your Rights

PrEP DAP Access

Virginia PrEP DAP application does not require SSN ("leave blank if client does not have one"), suggesting undocumented individuals may qualify.

Pharmacist PrEP

Most established pharmacist PrEP protocol in the region. Ages 18+ under statewide protocol. Reimbursement remains a challenge ($6.89 dispensing fees only).

HIV Criminalization

Virginia modernized laws in 2021 — repealed non-disclosure misdemeanor and blood donation felony. "Infected sexual battery" (intentional transmission) remains Class 6 felony. First Southern state to reform.

Minor Consent

Minors of any age can consent to STI testing/treatment with mandatory confidentiality. PrEP's classification as prevention creates some uncertainty. Pharmacist PrEP is 18+ only.
